Who is Catch It In Time (CIIT)?

Catch it in Time is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission of providing cancer awareness information through creative video storytelling. One of our goals is to educate young people about reducing their risk of cancer and to give them the information needed to catch it at the earliest possible stage. 


Why should I register for an account?

Registering creates an account for you to use throughout the competition. You can use this account to submit entries, check the status of entries, or update your personal information at anytime.  It will also give you the ability to keep historical information as an entrant, allowing you to easily enter each year while you are eligible.  For more information on how this information is used, please review our Privacy Policy

Who can enter the CIIT Cancer Awareness Video Challenge?

The challenge is open to all high school and college students who receive their education within the United States of America. 

When can I register and submit an entry?

The Challenge starts January 1st and runs through March 31st.  You can register for an account before submitting an entry, but not before January 1st

Is there a cost to enter?

There are no costs associated with the CIIT Cancer Awareness Video Challenge to the entrant.

Entry Requirements

·         File size is limited to 200MB. 

·         The preferred format for media files is .mp4, but we will also accept .mov.

How do I upload my entries?

1)    Sign in to your account here.

2)    Select the “Submissions” tab at the top of the page.

3)    Complete the form and follow the instructions to upload your video file. 

4)    Select “Browse” to choose your file. (It may take several minutes for your video to upload.) 

5)    Once the file has finished uploading, select the “Submit” button. 


Can I use a URL for my entry?

At this time, we do not except URLs.  Entries must be uploaded.

How can I edit or replace my entry?

If you need to replace an uploaded file, please contact CIITVideoChallege@catchititime.org for assistance.


In what category should I enter my video?

Who are the judges?

Our judges consist of video industry professions, medical professionals and cancer survivors.

How many winners are there per entry category?

There may be several winners in a certain category or there may be none. Winners are chosen based on the content of their piece.  Each category will have an Executive Producer’s Award, Director’s Award and Producer’s Award.  In addition, each entry will receive a CIIT Cancer Awareness Video Challenge recognition certificate.  All entries will be eligible for the Bob Brandon Story Tellers Award.

Where can I find a list of winners?

All Winners will be listed on our website.

Can I get Judge’s comments about my entry?

Currently, we do not release detailed commentary or individual judges scoring for entries.


What are the awards?

A plaque with the winner’s name engraved will be presented to each winner. If a production team entered, each member of the team will receive a plaque.

What are the prizes? 

For the 2019 Video Challenge, there are prizes worth over $17,000!  They include:
